Fascinated with Fantasy Fiction

Urban Fantasy is my current love. I've alway been fascinated with any book that contained magic, myths, and supernatural beings of any kind. Add some action and a little romance and I'm in heaven. This week, I'll be working on listing some of my favorite authors and favorite books. Later, I'll add links to author's websites and links to other Urban Fantasy sites.

  1. So glad you started this blog! For me, it all started when I read Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes. Tolkien was as close as I could get to fantasy. Dealing with the impact of imagined innovations in science/technology in futuristic settings was what I loved. Heinlein's world of love and living forever, Isaac Asimov's short stories and robotic laws. Space opera's like Frank Herbert's Dune, full of political intrigue. Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality were strong characters. And then came Steven King, The Stand scared the crap out of me. Anne Rice swung the doors wide for super natural fantasy. I think I want to read Songs of the Seraphim series. Need to do some more research.
